It's testament to Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck's parenting skills that they have such a normal family.

Often, one celebrity in the family is enough to cause cherished offspring to have their heads turned by the attention and lavish lifestyle.

So to have two movie stars for parents and be as unassuming, shy and normal as five-year-old Violet Affleck appears to be, is quite a feat.

The gorgeous girl is so shy that she covered her face in a fit of giggles as she walked with her mother on the way to a play date in Santa Monica, California, yesterday.

Her bashful approach to attention is largely credited to her 38-year-old actress mother's approach to hands-on parenting.


Devoted: Garner and Afflect visit schools for Violet in LA on Tuesday


Garner, who is appearing on our screens with Russell Brand in Arthur, married Good Will Hunting star Affleck, also 38, in June 2005.

The quiet couple are currently looking at schools for Violet together.

Perhaps they already realise that the shy beauty is unlikely to follow them onto the red carpet.
